CARE & MAINTENANCE

LEATHER
Leather is an organic material that over time develops a natural patina that maintains its qualities, as long as it is well cared for. As it is a natural material, it may always show small variations in texture and color. Furthermore, it tends to become softer with use, a characteristic that is not considered a defect. The product's charm is revealed when its softness, color, and natural appearance become more pronounced over time. The leathers used on the exterior of our products are goat, pigskin (suede) ou cowhide and, therefore, they require care beyond the usual for animal-origin pieces. To maintain their characteristics and appearance for longer, below are some basic and necessary care tips:
-
LEATHER BAG STORAGE
When acquiring one of our leather bags, it is important that it be stored with stuffing inside, so that it maintains its original shape and structure.
-
LEATHER TOP STORAGE
When acquiring a leather top, we send a box along with the piece in which the top should be placed to facilitate storage and ensure your piece will preserve its original shape. It is important to put stuffing inside so the piece does not deform. The best way to ensure this is to store the top in the same way it was sent. To help you, we have provided the illustrations below:

GENERAL CARE GUIDE
-
FRICTION
Avoid friction with rough surfaces, contact with sharp objects, and other garment trims or bags that could damage the leather.
-
SUN EXPOSURE
Avoid long exposure to the sun or any other extreme heat source, as this can damage the piece and change its original coloring.
-
STORAGE
Store the pieces in places without sunlight or humidity. Never seal the products in plastic bags to avoid discoloration and the presence of mold. Preferably use a Cotton Cover/Bag. Never store leather tops in drawers or on hangers, as such practices can deform the pieces.
-
WATER
Our leather pieces should never come into contact with running water. Never expose the pieces to rain or excessive humidity. Any contact with water or excessive sweat can cause irreversible damage to the product.
-
CONTACT WITH OTHER PIECES
It is important to know that leather and, especially, suede, being dyed materials, may present color transfer (release pigment) to other surfaces, especially when new and/or under friction and humidity. This is a common characteristic of the material. Avoid prolonged contact of dark pieces (in leather or suede) with light-colored clothing, bags, or upholstery to prevent stains and permanent damage. Similarly, avoid dark fabrics rubbing against light leather and suede pieces, as these fabrics can also transfer pigments and stain the product.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
-
STAINS
For goat and cowhide leather pieces, small stains can be removed using a clean and slightly dampened cloth. Always make sure to perform the procedure on the entire area of the product. Never use running water, detergent, soap, oil, or other products of that kind.
For suede pieces, never apply water or a dampened cloth as this can stain the skin. For minor dirt, try to remove it with a medium-bristle brush (brush in the direction of the nap) or with a dry microfiber cloth. For large or resistant stains, we recommend seeking a leather cleaning specialist.
-
AIRING
We recommend that, after using our leather tops, they be placed in the box with stuffing and left to air out. The pieces should always be in a dry and shaded place.
BIJOUX (ARTISAN JEWELRY)
Our jewelry is 100% handcrafted. Because they are manually produced with natural pigments or gold-plated, some pieces may show subtle variations in color, shape, and weight.

GENERAL CARE
To increase the longevity of your piece, protect it from bumps and drops against hard surfaces. For the maintenance of your piece, use only neutral soap and flannel. Avoid sun exposure, as well as the use of abrasive products/alcohol for cleaning. Always opt to store your accessories in their original packaging.
